SUMMER DANCE RECITAL


 2016 General Information for Take the Lead Dance Recital

Take the Lead’s Summer Dance Recital will be on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Plaster Student Union


Fees:

     A production fee of $45 per family is due by Monday, Feb. 15, 2016. This fee goes toward renting the stage, equipment, staff, and various recital costs. Please pay at the front desk at Take the Lead. Your card is on file so it should be convenient.

     A costume fee for each costume is also due by Monday, Feb. 15, 2016. Costume fees vary based on each class’ costume. Please ask Erin Archambault for specific pricing. Payment can be made at the front desk by any method including the card on file.



General Costume Requirements:

     Since costumes are not custom made for each dancer, you may need to make small alterations to assure a good fit. Please hang up the costume to allow wrinkles to come out. Ironing may damage some costumes, so hanging a costume in a steamy bathroom or over a humidifier is helpful.

     Youth dance combo classes (ballet/tap/jazz) will need peach or pink leather ballet slippers and black tap shoes. Lace-up or buckled black tap shoes are both fine. Dancenastics classes will be barefoot. Youth lyrical class (ages 7-12) will need peach or pink leather ballet slippers. Hip hop/jazz will discuss appropriate footwear soon.

Dress Rehearsal:

     A mandatory dress rehearsal will be at the Juanita K Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts on Saturday, June 18, 2016 from 10:00am-1:00pm the day of the recital. Dancers will not need to be there the entire time, but just for a portion to rehearse on stage. You will receive a schedule of specific rehearsal stage-times in the future. All dancers must come dressed in their costumes with hair and makeup done. Specific directions for each class’ costume pieces, hair, and makeup will also be given in the future. Seats for the evening performance cannot be reserved/taped-off at dress rehearsal.


Recital:  

     The recital will be on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 5:00pm at the Juanita K Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts on the MSU campus at 525 S. John Q Hammons Parkway, Springfield, MO 65806. Dancers must arrive no later than 4:30pm dressed in their costumes with hair and makeup done. Specific directions for each class’ costume pieces, hair, and makeup will also be given in the future. The auditorium will not be open to the public until 3:30, so do not arrive before then please. The cost is free for all to attend.


Cast After-Party:

     Dancers, friends, and families are welcome to attend the free recital after-party immediately following the recital. Refreshments will be served! More info to follow up on this soon.
