Is Zumba Actually Good Exercise?

     Most Definitely! A typical Zumba class can burn between 500 and 1000 calories, depending on personal level of involvement (how hard you "work it").  In addition to the cardio vascular exercise, participants also build strength, coordination, balance, and the ability to move various parts of their bodies. Prepare to be sore for the next few days if you have never taken a Zumba class before.  This is also true for those of you who are in pretty good shape due to the "I never knew I had those muscles" effect.  For those who need a less intense workout, Zumba Gold offers a great introduction.
